5/15/2008 - Newsletter Editor Volunteer Opportunity

We need your help! With the recent change in the board we need an energetic, self motivated, and organized person to take over the chapter newsletter.

  • Newsletter Editor Job Description:
  • Each month the newsletter editor must compile and organize information concerning the Savannah River Chapter of PMI. This information comes in various forms and some minor research is required. Generally a published newsletter may contain 8 - 12 pages per month however there is no mandate stating such. As long as the information required by the board is in there, extra material added is at the discretion of the editor. Skills required include: Good Computer Skills, Knowledgeable in MS Publisher or PowerPoint, Familiar with Adobe Acrobat, and the Ability to organize printed material. Information must be gathered from various sources including: SR-PMI Board Members, PMI Home Website, and Internet sources. The newsletter editor is also responsible for taking pictures at the monthly meetings and writing a short (1-2 page) article on the guest speaker at each meeting, and creating a short four question quiz on the PMP principles for each edition (material provided). Time required to complete each newsletter: 4-6 hours per month/edition.

  • PDU’s earned: 5 PDU’s per year
  • Whomever assumes the role of newsletter editor will receive a disc containing all previous editions, as well as all necessary material. The previous editor will also be available for support and/or training if needed. Please take this opportunity to assist your chapter, your help is desperately needed.
