The Savannah River Chapter of PMI awarded a $500 college scholarship for the Spring of 2008 to Ms. Allison Tjong. Allison has augmented her academic efforts by interning with a local Atlanta civil engineering firm and is majoring in Civil Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her introduction to civil engineering started in the summer of 2004 when she traveled to the Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula to help build a church. Allison plans to obtain a masters degree and enter the private or public sector, ideally rebuilding communities that have been hit with natural disasters or areas requiring infrastructure improvements. Allison was selected the basis of her academic performance, extracurricular activities and her essay titled "The Best Engineer: A Coalescence of Many Skills." Congratulations to Allison the best wishes in you future endeavors!
